Our Story
Diamond Dave’s is infamous in Kennesaw. Although it’s name’s changed a few times down the years, the mission never wavered: a late-night, anything goes restaurant and bar. Oddly, it considers itself a steakhouse — as reflected within the menu — but the live music, drink specials and closing time won’t fool you into thinking so.
Meet Diamond Dave
Dave Ulmer is the infamous “Diamond Dave”. Dave has 38 years in the food and beverage industry. He comes from a long line of restaurateurs including his mother, father and sister. At the young age of 18 Dave became part owner of his first restaurant. By age 22 he was the sole owner of his very own restaurant “Frenchy’s Famous New Orleans” in downtown Atlanta.
In between, Dave attended hospitality industry schools in new Orleans and by age 21 he was the youngest Director/Department Head ever for Sheraton Hotels. He didn’t start at the top either. Dave has worked nearly every job in the hospitality industry from bus boy to Maitre D’ to Chef, DJ, General Manager and Director of Marketing. This amounts to over 100 food and beverage operations in his career plus, he has personally solely owned over 20 Food and Beverage establishments in the Southeast.
Dave is a father to one and friend to all. He dedicates his “pay it forward” philosophy to the Optimists International, The Christmas Empty Stocking Fund and to helping in the advancement of Boy Scouts – especially Eagle Scouts, a rank he attained at 13 years of age.
